PART 1: Dedication

I dedicate my work to you, the patient office professional who works long hours to get things done. And you, the young student who writes school papers overnight, falling asleep at your desk. You, the aspiring artist who spends days and nights in a tiny studio, creating the next marvel to inspire others. And, yes, you, the pharmacist, the lab assistant, the teacher, and the bank teller, as well as the girl in the toll-booth on the highway, the air traffic controller and the receptionist, the accountant and the professional online shopper, the cab and the bus drivers, the trucker, and the airplane pilot. You, the hard-working man or woman strapped to your office chair with deadlines. The one who toils away, day after day, in spite of the pain in your lower back and neck; who types away for hours through exhaustion and fatigue; whose legs grow numb and knees become stiff; who can’t sleep at night, unable to find a single position that will make you comfortable.

I admire you! I feel you, and I feel for you!

Whether you sacrifice yourself to benefit others or to provide for yourself and your family, you are my hero. And with my utmost respect for your hard work, I want to tell you that it doesn’t have to be this way!

No, I’m not suggesting that you quit doing what you do. I’m just saying there’s a way to make your work easier and more enjoyable, boosting your productivity, as well as keeping you healthy and well by making simple changes to your sedentary habits.
